Privacy policy

1. General

Under the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, personal and confidential information is any information that identifies a natural person. Confidential information is therefore understood to mean any sensitive information to which access and use are restricted to persons or entities designated for this purpose, and the dissemination of which would have the effect of causing prejudice to the entity and its partners or to individuals.

The MP-Plus Group Inc. (hereinafter MP-Plus) recognizes that it will have access to personal, confidential, professional and strategic information related to the operations of trainers, speakers, training participants and employers (hereinafter stakeholders), particularly with regard to the management of registrations, the personalization of its training programs, its business opportunities and other information of this nature.

MP-Plus is therefore committed to protecting the confidentiality and security of its stakeholders’ personal information. This Privacy Policy is intended to help you understand our practices regarding the collection, use and retention of personal information.

2. Applicable laws

MP-Plus is subject to the personal information protection provisions of the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (RLRQ, c. P-39.1) when such information is held in the course of its functions and activities.

3. Collection of information

Personal information is collected in a number of ways, including business model forms, database transfers, and communication with us in person, by telephone, by mail or by e-mail. MP-Plus only collects personal information that is necessary for the conduct of its business and for the fulfillment of identified purposes. 

Depending on the circumstances, personal information may include trainer identifications, speakers identifications, training participant identifications, employer identifications, professional information, billing records, courses taken, payment management information, an entity’s strategic or contractual information, etc.

4. Use of information

Measures have been put in place to ensure that only authorized persons have access to personal information and are authorized to process data. All MP-Plus employees, agents and/or subcontractors with access to computer systems and confidential data must sign a confidentiality agreement beforehand. Thus, no data will be transferred to a third party without the written approval of the parties involved.

MP-Plus recognizes that Confidential Information remains the exclusive property of the stakeholders and that any unauthorized disclosure of such Confidential Information may cause MP-Plus significant harm.  In order to protect the interests of stakeholders, MP-Plus will use Confidential Information only for the purposes for which it was disclosed. In addition, all stakeholder data remains confidential, unless it has been published in the media or by the stakeholders.

A document is considered non-confidential: 

     • If it contains no personal information and has no strategic value for the entity;

     • If, at the time of disclosure, it was in the public domain;

     • If it becomes available, after the transfer of information between the stakeholders and MP-Plus, generally to the public, by publication or otherwise, and this disclosure is not the result of a fault committed by MP-Plus; 

     • If disclosed to MP-Plus by a third party;

     • If it is government information.

The information collected is used for the following purposes: 

     • To register confidential data in the database;

     • To process data; 

     • Analyze and respond to stakeholder requests;

     • Track training participants’ progress;

     • Save changes made to the database;

     • Targeted marketing and communications;

     • Resource management;

     • Evaluation of trainers and teaching methods.

5. Retention of the information

MP-Plus retains stakeholders’ personal information for as long as necessary to provide its services, or as required by applicable laws, regulations or government orders. Personal information may be retained for different periods depending on the nature of the information and the purpose for which it is held. By using MP-Plus services, stakeholders give their consent to the transfer of personal information to its database. MP-Plus never sells personal data to third parties and written authorization is required before transferring confidential stakeholder information to a third party.

MP-Plus has put in place appropriate physical, technological or administrative safeguards to protect the confidentiality and security of personal information against accidental or unlawful destruction, accidental loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure or access, misuse or other unlawful form of processing of personal information in its possession.

In addition, MP-Plus agrees to immediately take the necessary steps to limit the damage that could result from a breach, to investigate any vulnerability and to take the necessary corrective measures to prevent any recurrence of such an incident.

6. Update

The contents of this policy may be changed without notice to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements and other factors. Changes to this policy will take effect immediately. We encourage our stakeholders to stay informed about how MP-Plus handles personal information.
